Paula Cassin
Director and Consultant,
Cut Through Communications
After living outside of the U.S. for the past 15 years, Paula Cassin and her family are setting down roots in Goleta, California. In an effort to reconnect with colleagues and build up her network, Paula recently joined the IABC-LA chapter and has braved the 101 and 405 freeways to attend a number of networking and professional development events in the past few months. She also recently joined the IABC-LA board of directors as Chair for Regional Networking and Events for Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills. Early next year, Paula will plan an event in that area and looks forward to meeting colleagues who live and work a little closer to her. Read more about Paula below...

MY LIFE IN COMMUNICATIONS
The biggest communications challenge I have faced in my current (or previous) role was…
Creating marketing collateral and sales training material from scratch to pitch GlobalServe’s international IT services in the European market. Keeping it powerful, appropriate and useful for all salespeople and potential clients in countries from the UK to Turkey was a big task…
My favorite communications memory is…
The first European principal’s conference for the CEOs of our partner companies across Europe and the Americas. Having my first conference come together well was an exciting introduction to the corporate world which I’d never seen before, fresh out of university…
The most important communications or professional lesson I've learned is...
Listen, listen, listen, then think, then communicate.
Be real – authenticity shines through. You never win trying to manipulate your audience
A book, conference, or resource that I really find useful and recommend to other communicators is…
Corporate Conversations, by Shel Holtz
You should also know this about me:
I’ve just moved back to the U.S. after 15 years working overseas in France and most recently in New Zealand. My passion is internal marketing channels and my business is focused on this area, bringing great new “push technology” solutions from overseas which have proved highly successful in corporates already.
And to anyone struggling to cut through the clutter to reach staff and reduce email overload, I encourage you to have a look at Snap Communications solutions (www.snapcomms.com) or contact me.
